Michael Salgado is a native of Barrancos, Chihuahua, Mexico. At the early age of seven years old, Michael began his career in his first show business appearance as a guest on the show "Conjunto Alegria", a show that was managed by his father.
Michael earned the nickname "El Zurdo De Oro" because of his natural talent and exceptional ability to play the accordian left handed and upside down, which is not common amongst accordion players today. He has also gained prominence in the Latin American Talent industry, conquering a noticeable place on the popularity charts, album sales and most of all in the hearts of all his fans nationwide and internationally.
Michael has released more than 24 albums to date. Selling more than 2 million albums world wide, including the 1995 release of the multi award winning album "Cruz De Madera". The Album and single have received numerous awards including, "Tejano Music Awards:, Album of the Year, "Hispanic Music Awards", Best Single of the Year. The single continues to be a hit and a fan favorite. Over the last decade Michael Slagado has had numerous top hit singles such as, "Recordando a Los Relampagos", "Sin Ella", "La Media Vuelta", "Mi Chatita", "Palomita Blanca", "Ya No Voy Aguantar", "Sangre De Rey" and the list goes on and on. Salgado moved into new musical territory by including mariachi-backed material on the album, Otra Vez A La Cantina.
MICHAEL SALGADO'S brand new CD "Con Amor O Sin Amor" contains 12 original songs including the first single "Quedemos Como Amigos" a beautiful mariachi duet with Elida Reyna. The Grammy Winner also does a fantastic job on the Ramon Ayala classic "Camino Del Olvido." Music has been a lifetime pursuit for Michael Salgado. One which honed his skills and readied him for his rise to the arena of international success.
